GUWAHATI: The Assam government has announced the recipients of the Chief Minister’s Special Service Medal in a Crisis Situation and the Chief Minister’s Police Medal for Outstanding Service on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, 2026.

A total of 33 police officers and officials have been selected for the Chief Minister’s Special Service Medal in a Crisis Situation. The recipients include Devojyoti Mukherjee, IPS, Inspector General of Police (Border & F&ES), Assam; Ankur Jain, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police, Police Commissionerate, Guwahati; Padmanabh Baruah, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Udalguri; Jayanta Sarathi Borah, APS, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Police Commissionerate, Guwahati; Mrinal Deka, APS, Principal, LBPA, Dergaon; and Sumita Sormah, APS, Assistant Inspector General of Police (Training), Assam.
The list further includes Ripunjoy Kakoti, APS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Dima Hasao; Moitrayee Deka, APS, Co-District Superintendent of Police, Jalukbari; Dinesh Kumar, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Hamren; Nivranshu Hans, IPS, I/C Co-District Superintendent of Police, Bokakhat; Kirat Sonowal, APS, Deputy Superintendent of Police (P), West Karbi Anglong; Papori Chetia, APS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Sivasagar; and Aryan Nath, APS, Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ), Charaideo.

The Chief Minister’s Police Medal for Outstanding Service has been awarded to 36 personnel.
