Assam To Launch European Blue Valley Cluster Initiative With EU Partnership


 

GUWAHATI: Assam is set to strengthen its global economic and innovation partnerships through the launch of the European Blue Valley Cluster initiative, a collaborative India–European Union effort aimed at promoting sustainable livelihoods, entrepreneurship and inclusive growth across key sectors in the State.

The initiative will focus on empowering women, farmers and entrepreneurs working in sectors such as tea, fragrances, food processing, flavours and AYUSH through innovation, value addition and improved market access. The programme is being seen as a significant step towards enhancing Assam’s economic engagement with European nations while boosting local industries and employment opportunities.

As part of the initiative, the European Union Ambassador along with diplomats from EU member nations will visit Guwahati on June 8 and 9 to help launch a roadmap centred on sustainable development, innovation and economic cooperation under the growing India–EU partnership framework.

On the sidelines of the visit, the Bhoomi Poojan of the INLAMOBI Fragrances & Cosmetics Pilot Project will be performed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on June 9. The project, emerging as an outcome of Advantage Assam 2.0, is expected to open new avenues for value addition, entrepreneurship and employment generation in the State.

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) stated on X that Assam is forging new global partnerships through the European Blue Valley Cluster initiative. Calling it an outcome of Advantage Assam 2.0, the CMO said, “This collaboration will drive innovation, entrepreneurship and value addition, creating new opportunities for growth and livelihoods.”
