With an approximate budget of ₹15 lakh, the puja committee has chosen a theme highlighting the disadvantages of excessive mobile-phone usage among children. The theme will focus on the impact of excessive screen time on childhood, family interaction and real-life social connections.
Through the theme, the organisers aim to deliver a social message on the need to protect children from excessive dependence on mobile phones and encourage stronger family and real-world interactions.
The idol for this year's puja will be crafted by local artisan Pradip Pal.
The committee had explored different themes in previous years. Last year's theme was ‘Nostalgia’, while the theme for the year before that depicted the 100-year journey of coins.
The 43rd edition of the Barsapara Sarbojanin Durga Puja is expected to combine the traditional celebration of Durga Puja with a social message centred on children's growing dependence on mobile phones.
