The incumbent Chief Minister secured 1,27,151 votes, comfortably outnumbering his Congress rival, who managed 37,717 votes. Sarma’s winning margin stood at 89,434 votes, underscoring his continued dominance in the constituency.

Independent candidate Dipika Das received 2,546 votes, while 3,440 voters opted for NOTA (None of the Above), reflecting a small but notable segment of dissenting voters.

The outcome marks a significant setback for the Congress, which had mounted a strong challenge in an attempt to dislodge Sarma from his long-held stronghold. At the same time, the emphatic victory reinforces the Bharatiya Janata Party’s firm grip over the constituency and highlights Sarma’s enduring popularity among the electorate.
