This time the family members of Punjab Chief Minister and senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Bhagwant Mann have joined the BJP. Chief minister’s relative Gyan Singh Mane formally received the BJP flag from Punjab BJP president Sunil Zakhar on Monday. Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini was also present at the joining ceremony. The Chief Minister’s own people have joined the opposition in Punjab.
After joining, Punjab BJP president Sunil Zakhar said that BJP has made its roots very strong in Punjab and new members will strengthen the party. Along with Gyan Singh Mann, another relative of the Chief Minister, Baljinder Singh, also joined the BJP. Baljinder joined the BJP and strongly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party. He lamented that the government encouraged NRIs to come and do business in Punjab, but when they started business they were shut down. A few days back, the same government shut down his roadside eateries or dhabas. The move by the family members is being seen as a big blow to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Gyan Singh Mann was once a very important leader of the Aam Aadmi Party. He was in charge of the election campaign of the party in the last Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections. But he is not satisfied with the policies and performance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann since the Aam Aadmi Party came to power in Punjab. He openly criticized the government and administration for its failure to solve the flood problem in Punjab on social media and public forums. Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, who was present at the event, also attacked the Aam Aadmi Party. He said, those who support Arvind Kejriwal fall. Referring to the Congress and the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal, he claimed that the time had come to wipe out the Aam Aadmi Party from Punjab.
