The Chief Minister said the discussions focused on positioning Assam as a key player in India’s defence ecosystem, in line with the Centre’s push for self-reliant defence production under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

In a post on social media platform X, Sarma described the meeting as “enriching” and praised Singh’s experience as an administrator and public servant.

He also expressed gratitude to the Defence Minister for his support during the Assam Assembly elections and sought his guidance on the state’s development agenda.

The discussions also touched upon Assam’s industrial growth prospects and its potential contribution to strengthening the country’s defence manufacturing and strategic infrastructure capabilities.
