The visit brings together ambassadors and senior representatives from EU member states, along with European business leaders, under the "Team Europe" initiative. The delegation aims to deepen engagement with the northeastern states, including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura.

Speaking to the media upon his arrival in Guwahati, Delphin praised Assam's growing profile and expressed enthusiasm about the upcomings discussions.

"As the slogan says, 'Gateway to Goodness.' I really like this place and look forward to the meetings we are going to have with the Chief Minister," he said.

During the visit, the delegation is expected to hold talks with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other senior government officials. Discussions will focus on sectors offering significant potential for collaboration, such as renewable energy, sustainable urban infrastructure, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, electronics manufacturing, tea and agri-food processing, fragrances and flavours, and AYUSH-based industries.

A business delegation led by the Federation of European Business in India will also engage with state authorities and industry stakeholders to explore avenues for trade, investment, and long-term partnerships.

One of the key events on the itinerary is the "Blue Valleys: Building Ecosystems and Value Chains between India and Europe" workshop. The event will bring together European and Indian businesses to discuss opportunities in innovation, sustainable manufacturing, and value-chain development.

The visit will also mark the launch of Assam's first Blue Valley Cluster, an industrial initiative focused on fragrances, flavours, food processing, and AYUSH products. The cluster is expected to foster research, innovation, and sustainable manufacturing partnerships linking Europe, Northeast India, and Bhutan.

The delegation is also scheduled to visit Tata Electronics' semiconductor facility in Assam, highlighting the state's growing importance in India's emerging high-tech manufacturing ecosystem.

Officials believe the visit will provide European investors with valuable insights into Assam's industrial landscape, infrastructure development, and expanding economic opportunities, while further strengthening ties between the European Union and Northeast India.
