Four Drug Peddlers Arrested in Separate Heroin Seizures in Guwahati


 

GUWAHATI: Guwahati Police arrested four alleged drug peddlers in two separate operations carried out by personnel of Panbazar Police Station, recovering over 60 grams of suspected heroin and several empty vials.

In the first operation, a team from Panbazar Police Station arrested three alleged peddlers at 2 No. Rail Gate. The accused have been identified as Gokul Sarkar (19), a resident of 2 No. Rail Gate, Majirum Begum (25) of Gossaigaon, and Ramesha Khatun (30) of Hajo.

Police recovered five containers containing suspected heroin weighing 41.81 grams and 51 empty vials from their possession. The seized contraband has been taken into custody, and legal proceedings have been initiated.

In a separate operation, the same police team arrested another alleged drug peddler, identified as Mallika Begum (22), a resident of 2 No. Rail Gate.

She was allegedly found in possession of 16 vials of suspected heroin weighing 18.93 grams. The narcotics were seized, and legal action has been initiated against the accused.

The arrests form part of the Guwahati City Police's ongoing drive against the illegal drug trade in the city.
