GUWAHATI: A kidnapped person was rescued and four kidnappers were arrested during an operation conducted at Sipajhar in Assam’s Darrang district, police said on Thursday, May 28.

The operation was launched after law enforcement authorities received a complaint regarding the kidnapping of an individual and a ransom demand of ₹5 lakh.
Acting promptly on the information, the police team tracked the suspects and intercepted a four-wheeler vehicle after a continuous pursuit in the Sipajhar area. The kidnapped individual was safely rescued during the operation.
The four accused arrested in connection with the case have been identified as Abu Salam (31) of Sipajhar, Asatulla Ali (35) of Mangaldoi, Rozamil Ali (28) of Sipajhar, and Dalnur Hussain (41) of Mangaldoi.
Legal proceedings have been initiated.
