GUWAHATI: A huge traffic jam brought parts of GS Road to a crawl on Wednesday evening as actor Ajay Devgn arrived in Guwahati for the inauguration of a Kalyan Jewellers showroom.

The traffic build-up caused considerable inconvenience to commuters, with vehicles backed up along the busy stretch. Paltan Bazaar Police confirmed that there was a major traffic jam in the area due to the event.
Amid the congestion, an ambulance carrying a patient was reportedly caught in the traffic, highlighting the difficulty emergency vehicles can face when busy city roads come to a standstill.
GS Road is among Guwahati’s busiest stretches and regularly sees heavy traffic. Events that draw large crowds, particularly celebrity appearances, can add considerably to the pressure on the road.
