GUWAHATI: A late-night eviction drive by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) in Boragaon on Tuesday, September 9, has left several street vendors alleging heavy losses after their roadside stalls were dismantled and their goods allegedly taken away.

The drive targeted temporary stalls set up along the footpath. According to the reports the vendors claimed that fruits, vegetables and other items worth nearly ₹50,000 were loaded into four vehicles during the operation.
The vendors, who rely on the daily sale of perishable goods for their livelihood, said the sudden removal of their stalls and produce had caused significant financial losses.
The affected vendors have also expressed anger over the seizure of their goods, saying that the action has put their already fragile livelihoods at further risk.
