GUWAHATI: At least 105 Indians are among 384 people reported missing after a sudden flash flood swept through Nepal’s Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa region on Wednesday, August 26, according to the Nepal Tourism Board. The missing includes 291 foreign nationals and 93 Nepali citizens.

The Tourism Board said the list is preliminary and is being verified with travel agencies, guides, local authorities and security agencies.
The flash flood caused extensive damage to settlements and infrastructure in the Timure and Syabrubesi areas, including roads, bridges and hydropower projects.
Nepal Army and police personnel have been deployed for search and rescue operations, while helicopters are being used to assist those affected.
Authorities have also issued warnings for downstream areas as floodwaters move through the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river systems.
The cause of the sudden flooding has not yet been conclusively established. Experts are investigating whether the flood may have been triggered from the Tibetan side, as no major rainfall was reported locally.
