GUWAHATI: The Government has announced the National Sports Awards 2025, recognizing athletes and coaches for their outstanding contributions to Indian sports.

Chess Grandmaster Gukesh D and Indian hockey star Harmanpreet Singh, for Hokey, Manu Bhaker for Shooting are among the sportspersons selected for the Arjuna Award for their performances in their respective disciplines.
India’s leading women’s badminton doubles pair, Treesa Jolly and Pullela Gayatri Gopichand, along with 15 other sportspersons from various disciplines, will also receive the Arjuna Award.
Veteran Indian footballer Isaiah Arumainayagam will be honoured with the Arjuna Award (Lifetime).
The Dronacharya Award will be presented to athletics coach Parveer Singh, boxing coach Chhote Lal Yadav and shooting coach Neha Nandkumar Chavan for their contribution to developing athletes.
The Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar will be awarded to the Army Paralympic Node, Pune for its role in promoting and developing sports.
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports said the National Sports Awards are presented annually to recognise excellence and significant contributions to the field of sports.
The Sports Minister, however, did not mention any athlete for the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award this year.
