GUWAHATI: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will operate four pairs of festival special trains during the upcoming Puja, Diwali and Chhath festival season to facilitate passenger travel.

Train No. 05742/05741 between New Jalpaiguri and Gomti Nagar will operate from October 4 to November 30, with nine trips in both directions. Train No. 07555/07554 between Katihar and Purnia will run daily from October 1 to November 30, with 61 trips in both directions.
Train No. 07540/07539 between Katihar and Manihari will operate from October 2 to November 30, with 43 trips in both directions. Another special service, Train No. 07544/07543 on the Katihar-Manihari route, will run from October 1 to December 1, with 18 trips in both directions.
Train No. 05742 (New Jalpaiguri-Gomti Nagar) will depart New Jalpaiguri every Sunday at 8:30 AM and reach Gomti Nagar at 9:10 AM on Monday. The return service, Train No. 05741, will leave Gomti Nagar every Monday at 12:20 PM and reach New Jalpaiguri at 3 PM on Tuesday. It will stop at stations including Siliguri Junction, Thakurganj, Araria Court, Purnia, Katihar, Mansi, Khagaria, Samastipur, Hajipur, Chhapra and Gorakhpur.
Train No. 07555 (Katihar-Purnia) will depart Katihar daily at 9:30 PM and reach Purnia at 10:40 PM. The return service, Train No. 07554, will leave Purnia at 11:40 PM and reach Katihar at 2 AM. It will have stoppages at Dalan, Rautara and Ranipatra.
Train No. 07540 (Katihar-Manihari) will depart Katihar at 7 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, reaching Manihari at 8 PM. The return service, Train No. 07539, will leave Manihari at 3:15 AM on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays and reach Katihar at 4:15 AM. It will stop at Mansahi and Mahiyarpur.
Train No. 07544 (Katihar-Manihari) will depart Katihar at 8:30 PM on Mondays and Thursdays and reach Manihari at 9:30 PM. The return service, Train No. 07543, will leave Manihari at 5 AM on Tuesdays and Fridays and reach Katihar at 6 AM. It will also stop at Mansahi and Mahiyarpur.
NFR said details of stoppages and timings are available on the IRCTC website and are also being published through newspapers and NFR's social media platforms. Passengers have been advised to verify the details before travelling.
