GUWAHATI: Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant has sought the intervention of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to help him acquire land in the state, saying he wants to move his base from Delhi back to his native Uttarakhand.

Pant, who hails from Uttarakhand, raised the issue in a post on X on Friday, August 8, saying he has been trying to purchase land in the state for the past three years but has been unable to find a suitable property.
“I have been trying to buy land to shift my base from Delhi to Uttarakhand and I couldn’t find anything facilitating and big to live here. I love my Uttarakhand,” Pant wrote.
The Indian wicketkeeper-batter said Uttarakhand is his native place and expressed his desire to return and live among the people of the hills.
In his appeal to Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami, Pant requested government assistance in acquiring land and said he wanted to contribute to the development of the state.
“My humble request to you is, please help me in land acquisition. I wanna move back to my native place to help and build around Uttarakhand, and I want to shift back to my Pahadi people. Please look into this matter. It’s been three years, didn’t get any land. Awaiting your answer,” he posted.
Responding to Pant’s request on Saturday, August 8, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed the cricketer’s decision to return to his home state and assured him of government assistance.
“Pant belongs to our state. He has made a big name for himself and for the state. He has also played for the country and brought it glory, so he is welcome,” Dhami told the media.
The Chief Minister further said that government officials would discuss the matter with Pant and provide all possible assistance.
“Our officials will discuss everything with him. If he requires anything at all, we will certainly provide it,” Dhami said.
Pant, who has represented India across formats, has previously spoken about his connection with Uttarakhand. His latest appeal highlights his desire to establish a permanent base in his native state and contribute to its development while reconnecting with his roots.
