The Chief Minister said Silchar Medical College and Hospital and Dhubri Medical College and Hospital have joined the list of institutions accredited by NABH, a constituent board of the Quality Council of India.

"We are closer to ensuring that all medical colleges in Assam offer standardised test facilities," Sarma wrote, adding "more to come" as further accreditations are expected.

The development builds on an earlier announcement by the Chief Minister, in which he noted that Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, Tezpur Medical College, Assam Medical College Dibrugarh, Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College Barpeta, and Jorhat Medical College had already received NABH accreditation, following his directive to all medical colleges in the state to secure the certification.

Accreditation documents shared alongside the post show Silchar Medical College and Hospital's laboratory services were accredited under ISO 15189:2022 standards for medical testing, with the certificate valid until June 2030. Dhubri Medical College and Hospital's accreditation certificate was also shared, confirming its inclusion in the NABH-certified network.

The push for NABH accreditation is part of the state government's broader effort to standardise healthcare quality across public hospitals and medical colleges in Assam.
