Guwahati Jal Board Warns of Temporary Water Leakages as Hydro Testing Begins in South Guwahati


 

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Jal Board has begun a hydro testing exercise in parts of South Guwahati as part of the commissioning process under the South Guwahati West Water Supply Project.

According to a post on X, the testing is being carried out in the Railway Colony, Central Hospital and GP-East areas.

The Jal Board has informed residents that temporary water leakages may occur at certain locations during the testing period. Officials said dedicated teams will remain deployed along the affected stretches to identify and immediately rectify any leaks that may arise.

The hydro test is a crucial step in assessing the integrity and performance of the newly installed water supply infrastructure before it becomes fully operational.

The Guwahati Jal Board has requested residents and stakeholders in the affected areas to cooperate during the exercise and has expressed appreciation for public understanding during the commissioning activity.

Officials said necessary measures are in place to ensure that any disruptions caused by the testing process are addressed promptly.
