GUWAHATI: Three minor schoolgirls from different institutions have gone missing under mysterious circumstances in Assam’s South Salmara district on Monday, April 27, triggering concern among residents and authorities.
Speaking to GPlus, a police official from Fakirganj police station confirmed that guardians of the missing girls have filed formal complaints, and a search operation has been launched to trace them.
According to officials, the incident was reported from Balatari village under Fakirganj Police Station on Monday. The girls had reportedly left their homes in the morning to attend school but did not return, prompting their families to alert the police.
Reports said that two of the girls are students of Class VIII, while the third is in Class IX. Notably, all three are enrolled in different schools, adding to the mystery surrounding their simultaneous disappearance.
Police stated that an investigation is currently underway, and efforts are being intensified to locate the missing girls at the earliest.
