GUWAHATI: Assam Police, in a joint operation with Cachar Police and Assam Rifles, seized 942 grams of heroin and 10,000 Yaba tablets valued at approximately ₹5 crore during a late-night operation. Two persons were arrested in connection with the seizure.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, in a post on social media platform X, said, “Happy Sunday! Another step towards a drug-free Assam,” while acknowledging the coordinated efforts of the security forces involved in the operation.
The action is part of an ongoing statewide crackdown on narcotics networks, and enforcement against drug trafficking will continue across Assam.
