GUWAHATI: At least 39 Amarnath Yatra pilgrims were injured after a bus carrying them skidded off the road and crashed onto a house in the Kangan area of Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal district on Tuesday, July 28. No fatalities were reported.

The accident took place at Hariganwan when the driver reportedly lost control of the speeding bus while nevigating a curve. The vehicle veered off the road and landed on a house, causing extensive damage to the structure.
Officials said the house prevented the bus from plunging further into the nearby Sindh River, potentially averting a major tragedy. No one was inside the house at the time of the accident.
The injured pilgrims, who were returning after offering prayers at the Amarnath cave shrine, were rescued by local residents and security personnel. They were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident.
