GUWAHATI: The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has approved M. Badruddin Ajmal as its candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha bye-election in Assam’s 9-Nagaon Parliamentary Constituency.

The decision was taken by the AIUDF Core Committee, which approved Ajmal’s candidature for the by-election.
The Nagaon Lok Sabha seat fell vacant earlier this year following the resignation of former Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi, who later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and contested the Dispur Assembly seat.
The by-election is scheduled to be held on October 6, while counting of votes will take place on October 9.
