GUWAHATI: An estimated 76% voter turnout was recorded in the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election till 5 pm on Tuesday, October 6, according to the Election Commission of India.

Polling began at 7 AM across the constituency, which has around 19.05 lakh eligible voters.
The Nagaon Lok Sabha seat fell vacant after Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi resigned from the Lok Sabha in March 2026.
He later joined the BJP and contested the Assam Assembly election from Dispur.
The Nagaon bypoll witnessed a triangular contest among the BJP, Congress and AIUDF.
Counting of votes is scheduled for October 9.
