GUWAHATI: Over 150 farmers, grassroots practitioners, NGO representatives and experts gathered at Gauhati University on Tuesday, September 8, for a two-day conference on Indigenous Traditional Knowledge, clean energy and grassroots innovations.

The discussions focused on integrating community-led practices into government policies, particularly in biodiversity conservation, climate resilience and sustainable livelihoods.
Participants highlighted challenges including the loss of traditional knowledge, rigid government schemes and intellectual property concerns.
Experts also discussed decentralised renewable-energy solutions suited to the remote and hilly areas of Assam and Meghalaya.
The conference will continue on Wednesday with discussions on policy convergence and community-led solutions.
