GUWAHATI: The spirit of a bygone golden era will come alive at Ulubari this Durga Puja, with the 55th edition of the celebrations centred around the theme “Durgotsav Celebration in the Spirit of a Golden Era.”

The theme seeks to recreate the cultural vibrancy and traditional essence of a golden era through the puja celebrations, offering visitors a festive experience rooted in heritage and nostalgia.
As part of the celebrations, a 13-foot-high Durga idol, measuring 15 feet in length, will be installed at BK Kakati Road in Ulubari. The idol is being crafted by artist Abdul Kalam.
The organisers have earmarked a budget of approximately Rs 11 lakh for this year’s celebrations, which mark 55 years of the puja.
The Durga Puja is being organised by Bholanath Sangha.
