GUWAHATI: The 78th edition of the Durga Puja in Pandu, Guwahati, will be held from October 15 to October 21, 2026, with the organisers choosing Dwadash Jyotirlinga as this year’s central theme.

The theme will showcase the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas associated with Lord Shiva, with the organisers aiming to create a devotional atmosphere for visitors during the Puja celebrations.
According to the organisers, simplicity and a pious environment will form the foundation of this year’s celebration. The pandal will be crafted by artisans from Guwahati. The Puja will be organised with a budget of over Rs 5 lakh.
The Dwadash Jyotirlinga theme will add to Guwahati’s diverse line-up of themed Durga Puja pandals this year. The city will also see the Kedarnath Temple theme, Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple-inspired pandal, the Naglok theme, a cosmic-themed pandal at Pandu, etc.
The 78th Pandu Bara Bazar Durga Puja Committee is organising the celebrations.
