GUWAHATI: The Brahmaputra Volleyball League (BVL) is set to host the BVL Inter-State 2026 from October 2 to 4 at the GVCC Ground, Judges Field, Guwahati, bringing together champion grassroots volleyball teams from Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Manipur and Odisha.

The event is being organised under Volleyball 360, an initiative of the Brahmaputra Volleyball League and Dani Sports Foundation, aimed at taking a sustainable grassroots sports development model beyond Assam and creating opportunities for young athletes across different states to compete, develop and connect through sport.
As part of the initiative, champion teams from grassroots volleyball programmes in the five participating states will travel to Assam to compete in the BVL Inter-State.
The tournament will provide a platform for young athletes to experience inter-state competition while fostering teamwork, discipline, leadership, inclusion and sporting camaraderie.
Founded under the Assam Volleyball Mission 100 (AVM100), a registered public charitable trust established in 2020, BVL was conceived by former volleyball players of Assam to revive the state's club volleyball culture and build a sustainable grassroots ecosystem for the sport.
The BVL Inter-State marks an expansion of this grassroots approach, connecting young volleyball players from across India through a shared competitive platform.
Abhijit Bhattacharya, founder of the Brahmaputra Volleyball League and Assam Volleyball Mission 100, said, “Taking inspiration from BVL, Assam, four states, namely Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Manipur and Jharkhand, have started grassroots volleyball leagues where village teams participate and communities organise matches. The champion team from each of these states is coming to Assam to participate in the BVL Inter-State Championship. This is a very small initiative and we look forward to your support, blessings and guidance.”
