GUWAHATI: Guwahati Police on Friday, June 19, nabbed the key accused in the recent Doordarshan Colony robbery case, and he will be produced before a court.

On June 12 evening, the accused person, Tridip Kumar Das, aged 33, originally from Misamari, Sonitpur, forcibly entered the residence of Mrinal Boro, resident of Quarter No. C-15, Doordarshan Colony, Borbari, Guwahati, allegedly carrying a gun.
The incident happened at about 6:00 PM on June 12, according to the complaint filed before Dispur Police Station.
The police clarified that the gun the accused allegedly carried was actually a toy gun.
“At that time, his son was alone in the house. The accused threatened his son and demanded the almirah keys, thereafter took away cash amounting to approximately ₹2,500 and some duplicate ornaments from the almirah and fled from the spot,” a police personnel from Dispur PS said.
The complainant also provided the CCTV footage of the incident to the police. Das was subsequently identified and apprehended at Barbari with the help of the local, the police personnel said.
