According to an order issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Guwahati, the restrictions will be in force within a 100-metre radius of Panbazar Higher Secondary School, the designated examination centre for both the Lower Primary and Upper Primary level TET examinations.

The Special Assam TET 2026, conducted by the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), Division-I, will be held for Bodo, Garo, Manipuri and Hmar medium candidates.

The Lower Primary (Paper-I) examination will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon, while the Upper Primary (Paper-II) examination will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. A total of 183 candidates will appear for Paper-I and 290 candidates for Paper-II at the Panbazar H.S. School centre.

The order prohibits the entry of all persons, except candidates with valid admit cards and officials engaged in the conduct of the examination, within 100 metres of the examination venue. Police personnel on examination duty and other authorised government officials are also exempted.

The press release stated that the restrictions have been imposed to prevent malpractice, maintain law and order, and ensure the examination is conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner. The order cited concerns over the possible misuse of internet-based communication platforms and interference by outsiders during recruitment examinations.

The prohibitory order will remain in force on June 28 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 noon and again from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

Police warned that any violation of the order will attract action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
