The restrictions will remain in force within a 100-metre radius of designated examination centres until the completion of the examination. The move is aimed at ensuring the smooth and fair conduct of the recruitment test.
As of now, the notified examination centres include Panbazar Higher Secondary School in Kamrup (Metro), Sarla Birla Gyan Jyoti in Kamrup, Government Girls' Higher Secondary School in Dima Hasao, Tezpur Collegiate Higher Secondary School in Sonitpur, and Kokrajhar University along with Kokrajhar Girls' Higher Secondary School in Kokrajhar district. Similar prohibitory orders have also been issued by district administrations in other parts of the state.
Under the order, the gathering of three or more persons, except examination candidates and authorised officials, has been prohibited near the examination venues. Unauthorised entry into the examination centres has also been barred.
Authorities have banned the carrying of mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, microphones and other electronic communication gadgets inside the examination premises. Carrying weapons or any suspicious objects has also been prohibited.
The order further restricts illegal parking, obstruction of traffic, the use of loudspeakers or high-decibel sound systems, and the setting up of food stalls or temporary shops within 100 metres of the examination centres. Strict action will also be taken against anyone found aiding candidates through unfair means.
Officials stated that violators will face legal action under Section 189 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Assam Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2024.
The district administrations have appealed to the public to cooperate with the restrictions to ensure the peaceful and transparent conduct of the Special TET-2026 examination.
