According to a press release issued by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) on Saturday, June 20, isolated places in Guwahati city and districts across the state are likely to experience adverse weather conditions beginning Saturday and continuing over the coming days.

The weather pattern is expected to bring multiple spells of rain, particularly in western Assam, which may lead to waterlogging, slow vehicular movement and an increased risk of localized landslides in vulnerable areas.

ASDMA said district administrations and emergency response systems have been placed on alert and are closely monitoring the evolving situation.

The authority has urged residents to take necessary precautions and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense rainfall. Daily commuters and long-distance travellers have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly.

People living in low-lying and hillside areas have been asked to remain alert for signs of flooding and landslides and to follow advisories issued by local authorities.

ASDMA stated that weather updates will be shared regularly through its official website and social media platforms. The public has been urged to stay informed through official channels and exercise caution throughout the forecast period.

Emergency helplines remain active, including the State Control Room numbers 0361-2237219 and 09401044617, along with toll-free disaster response numbers 1070, 1079 and 112.
