GUWAHATI: A man was arrested after exposing his private parts to a woman near the Assam Forest School premises in the Jalukbari area of Guwahati on Tuesday night, September 8.

The incident took place at around 8.30 PM, following which locals caught hold of the man and handed him over to the police. He was allegedly beaten by some locals before being taken into police custody.
The accused was identified as Rajib Kalita, a resident of Dharapur in Guwahati.
Moitrayee Deka, Superintendent of Police of Jalukbari Co-District, along with a team from Jalukbari Police Station, reached the spot after receiving information about the incident.
A police official from Jalukbari Police Station said the accused was produced before a Guwahati court on Wednesday.
“According to locals, he showed his private parts to a woman,” the police official said.
The official said police received information through the emergency helpline 100 at around 8.30 pm and immediately rushed to the spot.
“We were informed about it at around 8.30 pm, and soon we rushed to the spot,” the police official added.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
