Nameri Tiger Reserve Closes Eco-Tourism Activities from June 1 for Monsoon Season


 

GUWAHATI: Eco-tourism and visitor activities in Nameri Tiger Reserve will remain closed from June 1, until further orders.

The closure includes trekking in the Core Zone of Nameri Tiger Reserve, the Bhalukpong Picnic Zone, and the Seijosa Picnic Zone.

The order was issued in compliance with directives from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, and the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA).

Authorities said the decision was taken in the interest of regulating tourism activities during the ensuing monsoon/flood season and for safety, protection and management considerations.

The restrictions will remain in force until further orders.
