The cylinder was introduced in Guwahati through M/S Das Gas Agency on Rajgarh Road after its first launch in Mumbai on July 20.
The cylinder is 50 per cent lighter than conventional LPG cylinders and is made of fibre-composite materials, enhancing safety for consumers while keeping it rust-free. It also features a gas-level indication system, allowing consumers to monitor their consumption and order refills on time.
The cylinder has a tare weight of 5.9 kg and a gross weight of 15.9 kg.
Bharatgas Lite ZIP has been specially designed for customers seeking a premium LPG experience, including working professionals, students and the floating population, who prioritise speed, convenience, reliability and seamless service.
BPCL plans to introduce the lightweight cylinder in 100 cities across 24 states by August 15. The company will subsequently roll out Bharatgas Lite ZIP across all other major cities in the country.
