GUWAHATI: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced two additional pairs of special trains to ease travel for passengers affected by flood-related disruptions in Upper Assam. The services will operate from July 22 to July 26 following the suspension of rail traffic on key sections under the Tinsukia Division.

Train movement between the Simaluguri–Namtiali and Simaluguri–Selenghat sections in Assam's Sivasagar district remains suspended after severe flooding inundated the tracks, prompting authorities to halt operations in the interest of passenger safety.
The disruption has led to the diversion of several long-distance trains to and from Dibrugarh and Tinsukia via the Rangiya–Rangapara–Dibrugarh route. In addition, some train services have been short-terminated, short-originated, while others have been cancelled.
To support stranded passengers, NFR has introduced Train No. 05911 (Tinsukia–Bhojo Special), which will depart Tinsukia at 12 noon and arrive at Bhojo at 2 pm. Its return service, Train No. 05912 (Bhojo–New Tinsukia Special), will leave Bhojo at 3 pm and reach New Tinsukia at 4:35 pm.
Another special service, Train No. 05913 (New Tinsukia–Moranhat Special), will depart New Tinsukia at 4:45 pm and arrive at Moranhat at 7:30 pm. The return train, Train No. 05914 (Moranhat–Tinsukia Special), is scheduled to leave Moranhat at 8 pm and reach Tinsukia at 11 pm.
Earlier, NFR had also introduced three pairs of special trains between Lumding–Mariani Junction and Rangiya–Mariani Junction to facilitate travel for passengers impacted by the flood-induced disruption.
According to Northeast Frontier Railway, the additional services are aimed at maintaining connectivity and reducing inconvenience for passengers until normal rail operations are restored in the affected sections.
