Protests Disrupt Rail Traffic in Tripura; Northeast Frontier Railway Cancels, Curtails Multiple Trains


 

GUWAHATI: Train services across Tripura were thrown into disarray on Friday after picketers staged an agitation on the railway tracks between Jirania and Teliamura stations, forcing the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) to cancel, short-terminate, or short-originate several trains.

In an official update, NFR said the disruption affected the following services:

15637 (Agartala–Khongsang) — Short-terminated at Jirania

15638 (Khongsang–Agartala) — Cancelled

75679 (Agartala–Karimganj Jn.) — Cancelled

75680 (Karimganj Jn.–Agartala) — Cancelled

15650 (Narangi–Agartala) — Short-terminated at Dharmanagar

15649 (Agartala–Narangi) — Short-originated from Dharmanagar

55676 (Dharmanagar–Agartala) — Short-terminated at Ambassa

15663 (Agartala–Silchar) — Short-originated from Ambassa

15664 (Silchar–Agartala) — Short-terminated at Kumarghat

55675 (Agartala–Dharmanagar) — Cancelled

Passengers travelling on these routes have been advised to check the latest status before heading to the station, as further changes could follow depending on how the situation on the tracks develops.
