With the move, AAP’s strength in the House has come down to three, while the BJP’s tally has risen from 106 to 113.
The seven MPs, namely Raghav Chadha, Ashok Kumar Mittal, Harbhajan Singh, Sandeep Kumar Pathak, Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Swati Maliwal and Rajinder Gupta, had resigned from AAP and joined the BJP on April 24.
Following the Chairman’s approval, their names have been included in the BJP’s list of Rajya Sabha members.
The development further strengthens the BJP’s position in the Upper House while sharply reducing AAP’s presence.
