River Rafting, Elephant Safaris at Manas Tiger Reserve to Remain Closed from June 1


 

GUWAHATI: Tourism activities, including river rafting and elephant safaris, at the Manas Tiger Reserve will remain closed from June 1, until further orders, according to an official notification issued on Tuesday, May 26.

The decision modifies an earlier order issued on May 16.

The annual monsoon closure is part of routine conservation measures aimed at reducing human disturbance in wildlife habitats and enabling habitat management activities during the rainy season.

Located in Assam, the Manas Tiger Reserve is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rich biodiversity.
