Youth Killed, Two Critically Injured as Truck Hits Motorcycle in Assam’s Jagiroad


 

GUWAHATI: A youth was killed and two others sustained critical injuries after a truck rammed into a motorcycle near the under-construction Semiconductor project in Assam’s Jagiroad late on Saturday night, May 16.

Speaking to GPlus, an official from Jagiroad Police Station said the accident took place on the flyover along National Highway 27 when the motorcycle carrying three youths was hit by a truck, resulting in a severe collision.

The deceased has been identified as Arjun Thapa (18), a resident of Palashung village in Jagiroad. He died on the spot due to the impact of the crash.

The two injured persons — Hirakjyoti Bordoloi and Arun Bordoloi, both residents of Tegheria village — were rushed to a hospital in critical condition. Their condition is reported to be serious.

As per report, the trio was travelling on an unregistered motorcycle when the truck struck the vehicle on the flyover. The exact circumstances leading to the accident are yet to be determined.

Police reached the scene shortly after the accident and recovered the body. A probe has been initiated to look into the case.
