The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has taken a significant step toward transparent and technology-driven recruitment by integrating with DigiLocker, the Government of India's cloud-based document storage platform. The announcement was made by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

With this integration, candidates appearing for APSC examinations will no longer be required to submit physical copies of their certificates and credentials. Instead, APSC officials can verify applicant documents directly through DigiLocker, eliminating paperwork and drastically reducing the risk of certificate fraud and impersonation, long-standing concerns in competitive public service recruitment.

The move is expected to bring four key benefits: elimination of certificate fraud and impersonation, faster and fully paperless document verification, improved convenience and accessibility for candidates, and reduced litigation risk arising from document disputes.

Chief Minister Sarma described the development as a major relief for job aspirants across the state, noting that the system ensures credentials are verified against authenticated government records, making forgery virtually impossible.

The DigiLocker integration marks a broader push by the Assam government to digitize public services and bring greater accountability and efficiency to the state's administrative machinery.
