GUWAHATI: A dispute over a parking space at Silchar Medical College and Hospital in Assam’s Cachar district turned violent on Saturday, August 1, leaving one ambulance driver critically injured and another arrested.

The incident reportedly began with an argument between two ambulance drivers inside the hospital premises. The confrontation allegedly escalated, with both men attacking each other with sharp weapons.
According to the media reports, one of the drivers, identified as Raju Kar, sustained serious injuries after he was allegedly assaulted by Papu Laskar. Kar was immediately admitted to the hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment in critical condition.
Police reached the spot soon after the incident, brought the situation under control, and took Papu Laskar into custody. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
The incident has also raised concerns over security arrangements within hospital premises, particularly in ambulance parking areas.
