GUWAHATI: Bongaigaon Medical College and Hospital (BMCH) is set to be inaugurated on October 5, 2026, by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The announcement was made by Assam Health and Family Welfare Minister Ashok Singhal during a press meet. Singhal said nearly 90% of the construction work has been completed and described the project as an example of both planning and execution.
Built at an estimated cost of ₹700 crore, BMCH will become Assam’s 15th medical college and hospital.
The new institution is expected to strengthen access to medical education and specialised healthcare services in Bongaigaon and the surrounding areas, while further expanding the state’s healthcare infrastructure.
