GUWAHATI: Olympic medallist and Assam boxer Lovlina Borgohain has raised objections after a Glasgow-based Indian restaurant provided Commonwealth Games athletes with paper napkins featuring an inaccurate outline map of India.

The issue came to light after members of the Indian contingent visited Mister Singh's India – The Home of Curry following their participation in the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. The restaurant had served the athletes with printed napkins carrying an outline map of India that omitted the Northeast and incorrectly depicted parts of Jammu & Kashmir.
Borgohain, who won an Olympic bronze medal and a silver medal at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, noticed the discrepancy and raised concerns over the representation of the country’s map.
“The map on the napkins is missing our Northeast. Every part of India is important and should be represented,” Borgohain said.
Boxing Federation of India President Ajay Singh also objected to the depiction and pointed out inaccuracies related to Jammu & Kashmir. He urged the restaurant to withdraw the napkins and replace them with ones featuring the correct map of India.
