GUWAHATI: The Assam government has transferred interim financial assistance of ₹15,000 each to nearly 75,000 of the worst-hit households across four flood-affected districts, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Monday, August 3.

Sharing the update on X, Sarma said eligible beneficiaries have also received the state subsidy under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
The Chief Minister said the government's effort is to place immediate liquidity in the hands of affected families so they can begin rebuilding without delay, while final compensation is determined through a comprehensive assessment.
He further announced that a second tranche of ₹10,000 for severely impacted families in Sivasagar and Charaideo will be released over the next few days.
Sarma also said that around ₹160 crore has been credited directly into the bank accounts of families affected by the Assam floods.
