GUWAHATI: The death toll in Assam's floods has risen to 68, while more than 11.41 lakh people have been affected since the onset of the flood season, according to the latest update issued by the Disaster Reporting and Information Management System (DRIMS).

The cumulative flood report, covering the period from April 29 to July 26 (11:59 pm), shows that floods have impacted 25 districts, 77 revenue circles and 2,145 villages across the state.
A total of 11,41,640 people have been affected by the floods during the period.
The report states that 210 relief camps are currently operational, sheltering 68,254 people, while 1,610 relief distribution centres have been set up to provide assistance to those affected.
Flood-related damage has also been extensive, with 1,004 houses fully damaged and 5,161 houses partially damaged. Authorities have evacuated 29,923 people from vulnerable areas.
According to the bulletin, eight people remain missing, including seven from Sivasagar and one from Dhemaji.
The cumulative death toll of 68 includes 30 deaths in Sivasagar, 20 in Charaideo, nine in Jorhat, seven in Dhemaji, three in Golaghat, two in Karbi Anglong, and one each in Kamrup and Sonitpur.
The state government and district administrations continue relief, rescue and rehabilitation efforts in the affected areas as the monsoon season persists.
