GUWAHATI: A pet dog was rescued in Guwahati’s Dispur area after being left trapped inside a locked car for several hours amid soaring temperatures on Tuesday, June 2.

According to local residents, the dog had been confined inside the vehicle since the morning and was found in visible distress by around 1:30 PM. Witnesses said the animal appeared severely dehydrated and was struggling in the intense heat.
Concerned residents intervened and managed to rescue the dog before the situation could worsen. Following the rescue, a volunteer animal welfare organisation took the dog into its custody to ensure its safety and provide the necessary medical attention and care.
The incident has sparked concerns among animal lovers, who have urged pet owners to exercise greater responsibility and avoid leaving animals unattended inside parked vehicles, especially during extreme weather conditions.
