JCI Guwahati Pathfinders, BimalaRoop Organise Mega Blood Donation Drive

A mega blood donation camp organised by JCI Guwahati Pathfinders & BimalaRoop (A Moped’s House Wing), collected 75 units of blood at Parshuram Sewa Sadan in Chatribari on Sunday, May 31.

According to the organisers, a total of 91 people registered for the camp, of which 75 successfully donated blood. The drive also witnessed participation from 16 first-time donors, who came forward to contribute despite common fears and misconceptions surrounding blood donation.

The event included free medical tests and physiotherapy sessions for donors. Special tokens of appreciation were also presented to the first-time donors in recognition of their contribution.

Members of both organisations actively assisted donors throughout the camp, helping ensure smooth conduct of the programme.

Bhawana Poddar, President of JCI Guwahati Pathfinders, and Ritu Baid, Founder of BimalaRoop, said the turnout was encouraging despite the prevailing heatwave and several social programmes being held on the same day.

Ritu Baid has been organising mega blood donation drives annually for the past four years as part of her birthday celebrations.

The camp was coordinated by Raghav Baheti. Key contributors to the successful organisation of the event included Pooja Jain, Archita Dadhich, Natwar Kedia, Rishab Baid, Abhishek Baid, Harsh Baid, Akshya Baid, Sanjolly Singla, Nabangkur Ghosh, and Poonam Damani.
