GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) on Sunday, May 31, carried out an eviction drive in the Bhangagarh area, removing unauthorised roadside encroachments that were obstructing public spaces and hampering pedestrian movement.

The operation was conducted by the Enforcement Branch of the GMC as part of the civic body's ongoing efforts to keep public areas free from illegal occupation and improve accessibility for commuters.
The latest action follows similar eviction drives carried out by the GMC in the Lalmati and Kharguli areas in recent weeks as part of a broader campaign against encroachments across the city. The civic body has been undertaking regular enforcement measures to ease congestion and reclaim public spaces for community use.
GMC has appealed to residents, vendors and other stakeholders to cooperate with authorities and refrain from occupying public land and road margins without authorisation.
