GUWAHATI: Power supply is being gradually restored across flood-affected areas of Sivasagar as water levels continue to recede, with the state recording an 11% reduction in power cut areas since Sunday, July 26.

Sharing an update on X, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said restoration work is progressing in tandem with improving flood conditions.
"The situation in Sivasagar is limping back to normalcy with water levels receding in many areas. Based on the reduction, we are gradually restoring power in areas with another 11% reduction in power cut areas from yesterday. We are monitoring the situation on an hourly basis," he said.
According to the latest flood impact and power supply status report for the Sivasagar Electrical Circle, issued at 8:30 am on July 27, electricity supply has been restored in several areas, although approximately 24,531 consumers are still without power.
The report states that 561 distribution transformers (DTRs) and eight 11 KV feeders remain disconnected, while two 33/11 KV substations are yet to be restored. There are currently no faults in 33 KV lines or 11 KV feeders, indicating that restoration efforts are focused on reconnecting infrastructure affected by floodwaters.
Among the worst-hit areas, SESD2 continues to have around 11,500 affected consumers, followed by Gaurisagar ESD with 5,800 and Sivasagar ESD-1 with 3,802 consumers awaiting restoration.
