₹39.08-Crore IIM Guwahati Academic Block 80% Complete; Academic Session to Begin July 20


 

GUWAHATI: The ₹39.08-crore Academic Block of the IIM Guwahati Transit Campus at Bongora has achieved approximately 80 per cent overall progress and is targeted for completion by June 30. The transit campus is expected to accommodate at least 70 students, with classes scheduled to commence from July 20.

Assam Chief Secretary Dr. Ravi Kota reviewed the progress of the Academic Block and associated infrastructure works on Saturday, May 30, and directed all executing agencies and concerned departments to expedite the remaining works while maintaining quality standards and ensuring timely completion of the project. 

The Academic Block will comprise modern lecture halls, seminar rooms, faculty cabins, library facilities, administrative offices and ICT-enabled learning spaces, providing the core academic infrastructure for the institute's transit campus. 

During the review, the Chief Secretary stressed the importance of close coordination among all stakeholders and instructed concerned agencies to ensure operational readiness of the campus ahead of the commencement of the academic session. 

The IIM Guwahati campus project is expected to strengthen Assam's higher education infrastructure and support the expansion of management education facilities in the state.
