GUWAHATI: The Excise State Task Force has busted an alleged ganja-selling racket operating out of a hotel near Kondapur Government Hospital, seizing 17.1 kg of the contraband worth around ₹9 lakh.

Acting on a tip-off that ganja was being sold from rooms at OU Highlights hotel, a team led by Excise CI Venkateshwarlu raided the premises and recovered several small packets of the drug.
Two men, both natives of Assam, were arrested, Dheeraj Das (39) and Rabali Ali (25). Officials said the duo had previously worked as security guards in Hyderabad before turning to the drug trade.
According to the investigation, the accused allegedly sourced the ganja from Assam, repacked it into small sale-ready packets in Hyderabad, and sold it directly from their hotel rooms.
The accused, along with the seized contraband, were handed over to the Kondapur Excise Station for further legal proceedings.
